Music in the new tunnel through Løvstakken.

Welcome to the light railway tunnel, the Bergen International Festival’s newest and most extraordinary venue.

A short walk from Oasen shopping centre and into the new Fyllingsdalen tunnel, you will find a large room that has been blasted into the mountain. Usually, there are huge construction machines in full activity here, but on June 01, work stops. Then, the area is rigged for a concert experience that is something quite out of the ordinary, and the depths of Løvstakken are opened to the public.

The married couple Tine Thing Helseth and Sebastian Haukås plays at the concert, which is inspired by the atmosphere inside the mountain, and includes both modern American music, Norwegian folk tunes and free improvisation.

When completed, the Fyllingsdalen tunnel will consist of two parallel tunnels: one for the city light rail, and one for pedestrians and cyclists. It will take nine minutes to cycle and 39 minutes to walk through what will be Europe’s longest walking and cycling tunnel.
