Tine Thing Helseth makes her hotly anticipated return to the Oslo Philharmonic on 2 October. She will give the Norwegian premier of Nico Muhly’s trumpet concerto Doom Painting, which was written for Tine. Muhly drew inspiration from the Bible, where the trumpet plays a major role across sacred ceremonies to jubilant celebrations. Commissioned by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, NTR ZaterdagMatinee, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, and Hallé Concerts Society, Doom Painting had its world premiere with the Antwerp Symphony in Belgium, followed by the Dutch premiere with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. The UK premiere with The Hallé will take place in March 2026. The concert will be conducted by Pekka Kuusisto.
Tine began her 2025/26 season with a highly anticipated return to the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin with Sebastian Weigle. Additional forthcoming highlights include her returns to the Tonhalle Zurich with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra with Elias Grandy, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin with Aziz Shokhakimov. She will also perform with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in Palermo and the Teatro Petruzzelli Orchestra in Bari.
