Odense Symphony Orchestra hosts this year’s award event, where classical music Denmark celebrates itself with awards for the Soul of the Year, the Event of the Year, the P2 Talent Award and much more. The main prize is the title as P2 Kunstner, which in 2021 is awarded to the composer Bent Sørensen.

Bent Sørensen is one of Denmark’s leading composers and has received several awards for his work, including The Grawemeyer Prize, the Nordic Council Music Prize and the Wilhelm Hansen Foundation’s honorary prize.

At tonight’s concert, a number of award recipients will perform, as well as Tine Thing Helseth, who can be heard in Bent Sørensen’s trumpet concerto and Haydn’s immortal ditto.

Odense Symphony Orchestra is the host for this year’s award ceremony, where classical music celebrates itself with awards for Album of the Year, The P2 Listeners Prize, The Fiery Soul of the Year, Event of the Year and many others. The main prize is the title of P2 Artist, which in 2021 will be awarded to Bent Sørensen.

Bent Sørensen is one of Denmark’s leading composers and has received countless prizes for his work, The Grawemeyer Award, The Nordic Council Music Prize, and The Wilhelm Hansen Foundation Prize to name a few.

Several award winners, as well as Tine Thing Helseth, will be performing in tonight’s concert, which can be heard in Bent Sørensen’s Trumpet Concerto and Haydn’s Immortal Ditto.
